PGA of Alberta Assistants Champions!
How Winning the Callaway Pro-Assistant Showcases My Game—and Yours
Greg Johnson and I knew the Callaway Golf Pro-Assistant Championship at Mickelson National GC was going to be a grind. Three formats—Best Ball, Scotch Ball, and Scramble—meant every shot mattered. But after 36 holes of battling it out, we came away with the win, thanks to clutch play and some serious teamwork.
The Road to Victory
Starting round two, we were one shot back, and Greg and I knew we had to go low early. I made three birdies and an eagle in the opening six holes of Best Ball to go -5 thru 6, giving us the outright lead. From there, Scotch Ball—a notoriously tricky format—was all about minimizing mistakes. While other teams made moves, we stayed steady, holding on to a slim lead.
The final Scramble format turned into a nail-biter. Tied after 31 holes, we knew it was anyone’s game. Then came the short 16th hole—one birdie sealed it. That putt wasn’t just the turning point of the tournament; it was the culmination of everything we’ve worked on as players and partners.
Why This Win Matters for You
Playing and teaching golf go hand-in-hand for me. Competing at a high level—where pressure and precision collide—helps me understand what it takes to perform when it matters. Winning the Callaway Championship is a reflection of the strategies, focus, and execution I bring to the table—and I bring the same energy to every lesson I give. Whether you're chasing your first par or preparing for your club championship, I’ve been there, and I know how to help you get there too.
More Than a Game
Golf is all about moments—on the course, in competition, and during lessons. This win is one of those moments I’m proud to share, and it fuels my passion for helping others create theirs. Let’s work together to make sure your next big moment happens.
